2023 has just started and winter is at its peak.
One thing I love to do in SL during this time of the year is going around and visiting sims that have a wintery-kinda atmosphere, where snow plays a major role.
What follows is my review of the sim Winterset Hollow I visited a few days ago and I found it absolutely incredible and very cold. ⛇
Make yourself a cup of tea or hot cocoa, grab a blanket, and hope you will enjoy the reading! 💗
Winterset Hollow is a Swedish-inspired winter village created by Tolla Crisp and Terry Fotherington, owners of Frogmore.
The landing point is located at the beginning of what we can call the "main street" of the village, which most of the commercial activities of the place overlook. Here you can find a lovely bakery, a post office, a small grocery shop, little stands selling gluhwein (mulled wine), hot cocoa & marshmallows, a tailoring workshop, and a few, cozy cafes.

Swedes love coffee and, for them, it is always time for a coffee break, especially if with a piece of cake or a cinnamon bun, to catch up on the latest news from family & friends: this is the Swedish "Fika", one of Sweden's most cherished customs.
No surprise there are so many cozy coffee places in Winterset Hollow!

Going uphill, passing by some beautiful wooden houses, you can find a school and a little Christmas Tree and Reindeer Farm, and another Gluhweine/Mulled Wine and food stand, the perfect place to stop and get something hot to fight the freezing temperatures.
Many activities can be done here: from renting a sled or a snowmobile, enjoying a ride on the funicular (which leads to a stunning café on top of a hill - a very spectacular observatory point), to snowboarding or skiing.

Taking long walks immersed in the breathtaking nature, which the snow makes even more beautiful, is also highly suggested.
The place feels so real that you can almost hear the typical muffled sound of your footsteps on the fresh snow.

Nothing better than a walk into Nature
There is also a pretty nice ice-skating rink for those who enjoy ice skating. Skates can be rented on-site.
Wild animals can be spotted anywhere on the sim. Keep your eyes - and ears - open for rabbits, squirrels, and different birds.
A family of wild reindeer can be observed, as well as some beautiful geese in the frozen lake.
The sim is full of many photogenic spots and places to relax, alone or with friends or loved ones. I highly suggest you all visit it before it's gone.

The cure for every little detail makes the place look so real. It really seems like you are visiting one of those little and cozy villages lost in one of the many forests of Sweden.
Tolla and Terry did an amazing job. I loved every second of my time in Winterset Hollow.

I hope my pictures have paid a little tribute to the place.
