D#009: Kidaka Resort & Eco Lodges

Kidaka Resort & Eco Lodges is the perfect combination of a luxury vacation or a honeymoon destination and a real safari adventure. 

The setting is absolutely original - the wild and beautiful African savannah - and the place consists of the main hotel building plus a couple additional tents and four lodges, all located at the edges of the savannah itself. This is exactly what I loved the most about this place: the structures are more like a decoration and not suffocating the savannah at all, which remains the focal point of the whole place.

Many are the animals that can be observed roaming freely in the wilderness: a family of lions with their cute little cubs, zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, antelopes, monkeys, and even meerkats. I had a lot of fun trying to approach them to take some pictures!

There is one animal that is a little harder to spot on sim despite it being one of the protagonists of the savannah: the cheetah. The owners of the sim have embraced an RL cause - Save the Cheetah - which purpose is precisely to raise people's awareness and help this magnificent animal to avoid extinction. Near the main hotel building, there is a little cabin where you can find more info about this cause and, for those interested in contributing, this is the website to visit CCF.



There is a lot of other activities that the place offers to its visitors besides the animal safari. The hotel has a beautiful pool with a jacuzzi tub next to it, the perfect place to relax and sunbathe under the hot African sun. There is also an indoor and outdoor bar, a restaurant, a spa, and even a private beach.

All the lodges are equipped with a private beach as well. While the savannah itself is free for everyone to visit, the tents and lodges and the hotel area are accessible to guests only and they all have a security system, so remember to book your stay if you want to enjoy the place to its fullest and avoid to be kicked out by the orbs!

 2023 has just started and winter is at its peak.  One thing I love to do in SL during this time of the year is going around and visiting sims that have a wintery-kinda atmosphere, where snow plays a major role. What follows is my review of the sim Winterset Hollow I visited a few days ago and I found it absolutely incredible and very cold. ⛇ Make yourself a cup of tea or hot cocoa, grab a blanket, and hope you will enjoy the reading! 💗 Winterset Hollow is a Swedish-inspired winter village created by Tolla Crisp and Terry Fotherington, owners of Frogmore.  The landing point is located at the beginning of what we can call the "main street" of the village, which most of the commercial activities of the place overlook. Here you can find a lovely bakery, a post office, a small grocery shop, little stands selling gluhwein (mulled wine), hot cocoa & marshmallows, a tailoring workshop, and a few, cozy cafes. D#007: Winter in New York & The Poconos Ski Resort (Winter 2020)

The Poconos Ski Resort RL New York is a huge attraction all year round, with its immense skyscrapers that make you walk around with you chin up in the air, its lights and the traffic at all hours: it's no coincidence that New York is also called " the city that never sleeps ". D#013 Cats lovers paradise: Nekomachi Street & Maneki Cafè

As a good cat lover, I take note of all the places I find during my explorations in Second Life that have to do with these adorable felines. Here are two places that I found and are worth a visit: - Nekomachi Street - Maneki Cafè The list will be updated in case more places are found. Please leave a comment if you already know of others (include a URL if possible!) NEKOMACHI STREET Nekomachi Street can be found in Tonarino, a Japanese town (see my post here ). To get there, you need to click the cat inside the tunnel near the town's Garage/mechanic.  Nekomachi Street is a - fantasy - representation of what a Japanese town would look if its inhabitants would be cats instead of humans, living their everyday lives just as much as we would do.  Everything takes place along the main road, among the little shops, restaurants, and market stalls that overlook it.
