D#011: The Butterfly Conservatory

The entrance

The Butterfly Conservatory is a lushful indoor tropical garden featuring free-flying butterflies from all over the world, different varieties of tropical plants - flowers and trees - beautiful waterfalls, pools, and fountains.

It is located on a moderate sim and it is open to everyone, including children, making it the perfect destination for a family/school excursion.

The elevated pathway and waterfall pool

The first thing that captured my attention once I walked past the entrance was the stone pathway that leads the visitor across the whole place which offers also a stunning aerial view of the entire indoor garden.

What I found to be very beautiful was also the huge waterfall on the back and the pool in front of it, filled with pink petals.

Another thing I particularly love about the Conservatory is how the elevated pathway is decorated, with colorful flowers hung on the metal fences.

Many are the relax areas where visitors can stop to appreciate the beauty of the place and its peace, to listen to the chirping of the birds and the gentle sound of the waterfalls.

Moreover, the entire pathway is littered with info points that provide a notecard with a detailed description of the origin of the plant/flower/butterfly that is being observed.

In the center of the greenhouse, there is also a bar/café on two levels, the ideal place to sip a refreshing drink before resuming the visit!

The bar/cafè

In a corner of the greenhouse, isolated from the rest of the conservatory by two glass sliding doors, there is a small "bird paradise", an area exclusively dedicated to birds where different species of feathered creatures, mainly parrots, can be observed closely.

The Bird Paradise

The outside of the Conservatory is no less interesting.

Another pathway full of info points allows the visitor to get to know more about bugs and other small insects as well as amphibians.

Absolutely notable is, lastly, the corner dedicated to another great protagonist of the pollination process in addition to butterflies: bees. As we all know, bees are in danger of extinction all over the world and in this corner, visitors can find a lot of information about them and what each of us can do to help them survive.

The Butterfly Conservatory is without any doubts a place that deserves to be visited.

I do not think there is a similar place to this one anywhere else in SL.

Alone or with your loved one/s, take some time to explore the place, you will not be disappointed!
