D#003: Lush Tulum - The Sim

I heard about Lush Tulum from Dirk Lemon, the SL Hotel Inspector, who on more than one occasion talked to me about the beauty of this place and how it has become one of his favourites holidays destination.

I have been Dirk's companion on a few of his latest travels across the grid to discover hotels and resorts and what I learned about him in the past weeks is that his reviews are always very honest and sincere and are not altered in any way by whether he is or not friend with the owner/owners of the site he is visiting.

What he told me about Lush Tulum sparked my interest and curiosity and I needed to see it with my own eyes.

He was right. This place is absolutely stunning.

Lush Tulum is a luxury holiday resort located in the Mexican Peninsula, owned by Luxie Palmas (barbiepalmas) and Luna Palmas (harmonie.dismantled). The sim is a stand-alone group-access only sim, the landing point is a private airport gate up in the sky where you are checked-in and given a notecard with the landmark to your villa as well as a list of landmarks to all the other attractions on sim.

What really fascinated me was not only the beautiful landscape - the sim has been built perfectly and the cure for the smallest detail is evident everywhere you look - but it is also the multitude of activities the place offers. Despite being a single sim, it is really difficult to get bored.

As a start, not far from the landing point on the sim ground, there is a magnificent sandy beach. My jaw literally dropped at the view of it as the windlight chosen for the sim makes the sea to completely blend with the sky and it is really hard to distinguish the horizon. The soft blue colour of the water and the light itself have created this peaceful athmosphere that makes you want to sit there for hours and just watch the waves hit the shore.

On the beach there are a few small elevated huts where you can relax, alone or with your loved one, a windsurf rezzer and a lovely beach bar where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail.

The sim has another - smaller - and more secluded beach with natural hot spring water pools, perfect place to enjoy the company of your special one. This beach can be reached by walking a path in one of the greenest and lushful tropical forest I have ever seen - be careful of jaguars as they hide behind bushes!

Waterfalls are everywhere on sim and they all are stunning and so realistic. From one of those - nearby the bridge connecting the bar/restaurant area to the residential part of the sim, you can cliff diving and, once out of the water, you can also try paddle boating!

The underwater world is also worth a visit with its beautiful and colorful corals, sponges and kelp so you might want to try the underwater cave diving. If you don't have a swimming hud, one is provided for free on the small beach facing the cave.

Among the many activities they are noteworthy: hot air ballooning and hang gliding (both great ways to enjoy an aerial view of the sim). Me and Dirk tried hang gliding and it was absolutely fun! The hang glider itself was a little tricky to manouver, most probably due to the winds and currents - and our total inexperience - but we managed to safely land somehow 😁

To get to the hang gliding place, you need to find the Maya Temple - another observation point - so take your time exploring the area and make sure to wear comfortable shoes because, to reach the top of the temple, there are quite a few stairs to climb!

Lush Tulum is not only a place for sporty people, tho'! Relax is the "shibboleth" here and it is taken seriously...and what's better than a Spa in the middle of lushful tropical forest to be pampered and have your spirit invigorated? This service is on demand, so make sure to book it beforehand. The Spa includes a beautiful pool and massage beds, a sauna and there is also an open-air yoga area and hot tub!

For those interested, there is also a Cannabis shop (La Mota Cannabis Lounge), a restaurant (Luuma Restaurant - service on demand), a bar (Azul). The villas are all beautiful and worth a visit - if unoccupied - remember to always respect the privacy of the other guests!

A little hint: look for the amazing murales in each building. There are many different ones, all of them beautiful!
