D#011: The Butterfly Conservatory

Image
The entrance The Butterfly Conservatory is a lushful indoor tropical garden featuring free-flying butterflies from all over the world, different varieties of tropical plants - flowers and trees - beautiful waterfalls, pools, and fountains.  It is located on a moderate sim and it is open to everyone, including children, making it the perfect destination for a family/school excursion.  The elevated pathway and waterfall pool The first thing that captured my attention once I walked past the entrance was the stone pathway that leads the visitor across the whole place which offers also a stunning aerial view of the entire indoor garden. What I found to be very beautiful was also the huge waterfall on the back and the pool in front of it, filled with pink petals. Another thing I particularly love about the Conservatory is how the elevated pathway is decorated, with colorful flowers hung on the metal fences.   Many are the relax areas where visitors can stop to appreciate the be...

D#010: Fruit Islands - The Lighthouses

Image
For those of you who do not know them, the Fruit Islands are a sailable and flight community of over 200 connected sims owned by Zoha Islands, one of the most famous estates in Second Life. Besides plots that people can rent and personalize, there are islands with houses ready to be rented, public hanging out spots - beautifully built and decorated, a few nice marinas with boat slips for rent, and airports.  There are many activities you can do there: from sailing and flight to diving in a few underwater worlds, caves exploring, kayaking, 7 seas fishing, and more.  One thing I particularly love about Fruit Islands is the many lighthouses that can be encountered while sailing between the many islands. I have always been attracted by lighthouses in real life as well, due to their charm and the aura of mystery that surrounds them and with this post I want to pay homage to them. While some of them are on private parcels - remember to respect the privacy of the people living nearby...

D#009: Kidaka Resort & Eco Lodges

Image
Beautiful flamingos Kidaka Resort & Eco Lodges is the perfect combination of a luxury vacation or a honeymoon destination and a real safari adventure.  The setting is absolutely original - the wild and beautiful African savannah - and the place consists of the main hotel building plus a couple additional tents and four lodges, all located at the edges of the savannah itself. This is exactly what I loved the most about this place: the structures are more like a decoration and not suffocating the savannah at all, which remains the focal point of the whole place.  Ready for the safari adventure! Many are the animals that can be observed roaming freely in the wilderness: a family of lions with their cute little cubs, zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, antelopes, monkeys, and even meerkats. I had a lot of fun trying to approach them to take some pictures! Lions,  the Kings and Queens of the Savannah Zebras! Majestic Elephants! Antelopes Giraffes Observing a Rhino from sa...
